About the Artists

Welcome to our page! My name is Amanda Reou and I started MI Woodland Art Studio in 2019 along with my husband, Jeff. As the name implies, we live in the north woods of Michigan in the the Upper Peninsula with our 3 children. Living in such a picturesque area, it is no surprise that I draw much of my inspiration from nature. The natural world holds an never-ending myriad of colors, details, and textures to admire.

I love to paint with acrylics on canvas, wood, and glass. I have recently begun dabbling with digital painting/illustrating and pastels. I enjoy trying out new ideas and working out how to develop different items to add to our product line. However, I believe that I get my greatest enjoyment from seeing the joy that my art brings to others. 

My husband Jeff and I blend our talents to work as a team for many of our projects. We have a laser and a small wood shop where he creates many of the cutouts and substrates for me to paint on. Many times, I present him with an idea or a drawing and he draws it up in CAD and cuts it on the laser so that we can bring it to life.

Over the years, we have been incredibly grateful and humbled with the amount of support and excitement that we have received from our "fan base." We love hearing the stories about the reasons people purchase items from us. Whether something holds special meaning to them personally or their excitement about a purchase for someone else.
